What are heatmaps, clickmaps and scrollmaps?

Heatmaps, Clickmaps and Scrollmaps are images that show you exactly where all your visitors are moving their mouse, clicking and scrolling on your website. They are fantastic for seeing exactly what areas of your website visitors are paying attention to and what they are ignoring. Once you have this data you'll be able to remove sections of your site that aren't drawing attention and try other sections instead to create the perfect site that everyone loves.

Heatmaps, Clickmaps and Scrollmaps are automatically recorded of every single visitors that passes through your tests, you do not need to add any additional configuration or code to your website to see them.

Heatmaps and clickmaps look similar to the image below:

A Heatmap shows mouse movements while a clickmap shows clicks from all your visitors. These images are then overlaid over your website to easily see what is and isn't working.

Scrollmaps are similar but show what overall areas of your site visitors are paying most attention to.

Areas in are shaded in a rainbow from blue to red. Red areas are areas that visitors are spending a lot of time looking at and areas in blue visitors are scrolling over quickly or not looking at at all. Scrollmaps are most useful for analyzing long sales letters or long pages.
